DCommander macOS 15 Sequoia Bug

We’ve recently become aware of an issue affecting a few DCommander users running macOS 15 Sequoia. Some users have reported that DCommander temporarily loses access to the filesystem, making it impossible to browse files or folders. We understand this is frustrating and want to assure you we are working closely with Apple to resolve the problem. 

What’s Happening? 

The issue stems from a bug in macOS 15 Sequoia’s “ScopedBookmarksAgent,” which can hang if launched while the keychain is locked (e.g., during screen lock). This causes DCommander to temporarily lose access to filesystem information on macOS 15.0 and 15.0.1.

Good News: The Fix Is Coming! 

Apple has acknowledged the bug and has already fixed it in macOS 15.1 beta 4. If you’re enrolled in Apple’s beta program, updating to this version should resolve the issue. For those not using beta software, a stable update containing the fix is expected soon. 

Workarounds for the DCommander macOS 15 Sequoia Bug Until Then: 

In the meantime, there are temporary workarounds: 

• Kill ScopedBookmarksAgent: You can manually terminate the “ScopedBookmarksAgent” process. This may also require killing and relaunching DCommander to restore functionality.
• Log Out/Reboot: Logging out of your macOS account or rebooting your Mac will typically resolve the issue as it resets the affected processes.
