Keyboard Shortcuts
Use keyboard shortcuts to perform tasks faster in DCommander. It’s much easier and more efficient to use your keyboard for certain tasks.
Here you’ll find a list of all keyboard shortcuts you can use in the latest version of DCommander.
Navigation
⏎ Return | Opens the currently selected item. |
⌫ Backspace | Goes back to the current folder’s parent. |
Left Arrow | When Lynx-like navigation is enabled, it goes to the current folder’s parent, otherwise it does nothing. |
Right Arrow | When Lynx-like navigation is enabled, it opens the currently selected item, otherwise it does nothing. |
Up/Down Arrow | Changes the currently selected file in the file list by moving it up or down by one item. |
⌥ Option + Up/Down Arrow | Goes to the top or bottom of the file list. |
Selection
⌴ Spacebar | Toggles selection for the currently active item in the file list. If Alternate Spacebar action is enabled, it shows the QuickLook window for the selected item. |
⇧ Shift | When combined with the Up/Down arrows, it expands or shrinks the selection. |
⌘ Command + A | Opens the currently selected item. |
⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + A | Deselects all the items in the current file list. |
⇧ Shift + ⌘ Command + I | Inverts selection of items in the current file list. |
⇧ Shift + ⌘ Command + A | Selects all the items with the same extension in the current file list. |
⌘ Command + = | Expands selection in the current file list. |
⌘ Command + - | Shrinks selection in the current file list. |
Functions
F2 | Renames the currently selected item. |
F3 | Opens the DCommander viewer for the currently selected item. Can be configured to use an external viewer. |
F4 | Edits the currently selected item using an external editor. Default editor is TextEdit.app. |
F5 | Copies the currently selected item from the active file list’s current location to the opposite file list’s location. |
⌥ Option + F5 | Compresses the currently selected item. |
F6 | Moves the currently selected item from the active file list’s current location to the opposite file list’s location. |
F7 | Creates a new folder at the active file list’s location. |
⌥ Option + F7 | Opens the search window. Can be configured to use an external search tool. |
F8 | Deletes the currently selected item. |
Tabs
⌘ Command + T | Creates a new tab in the current file list. |
⌘ Command + W | Closes the current tab in the current file list. |
⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + Left | Selects the previous tab in the current file list. |
⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + Right | Selects the next tab in the current file list. |
File List
⇥ Tab | Toggle between file lists. |
⌘ Command + R | Refreshes both file lists. |
⌘ Command + D | Shows the directory hotlist (bookmarks). |
⌘ Command + U | Swaps the file lists and refreshes them. |
⌘ Command + E | Equalizes the file lists (both will show the same path as the current file list). |
⌘ Command + I | Shows the information window for the currently selected item. |
⌘ Command + N | Creates a new file at the current location. |
⌘ Command + J | Shows the Transfer Manager. |
Window
⌘ Command + , | Shows the Preferences window. |
⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + T | Shows/Hides the toolbar. |
⇧ Shift + ⌘ Command + L | Shows/Hides the left sidebar. |
⇧ Shift + ⌘ Command + R | Shows/Hides the right sidebar. |
⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + R | Toggle right sidebar mode. |
⌘ Command + H | Hides the current window. |
⌘ Command + M | Minimizes the current window. |
⌘ Command + W | Closes the current window, but does not quit DCommander. |
⌘ Command + Q | Quits DCommander. |
